They will have it after this! You may want to stick around... it could BE... a REAL Eye Opener! Friday, November 20th at 5:30 pm. SUGAR RUSH #3! $25 includes a canvas cupcake painting party for the kids and the SUGAR RUSH experience! Kids will experience new foods and become aware, and accountable for the amounts of sugar they are eating in their foods.
Kids get to measure, spoon, and pour sugar as artist Sandra Marshall visually explains just how much sneaky sugar we are eating in our everyday foods without even knowing it. Sugar Rush #3 will be geared towards elementary school age children. Sandra uses playful, visual ways of showing the kids how food companies are putting sugar into so many of our favorite foods.
She talks about how the more sugar we eat, the more we want and why this is not a good thing for our bodies. She shows how kids can be more powerful then their super strong sugar cravings and the BIG food companies, by making healthy choices.
She will talk about smart alternatives to these foods and will allow children to try some delicious healthy foods in fun ways, They will create a 'Super Hero Super Food' cartoon figure to show how they can outsmart the sugar. Be...An Artist will be teaming up with Desert Valley Pediatrics and once the kids become aware of the amount of sugar in foods they eat then will help with the next step on the road to healthy eating.
Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy and Be...An Artist understand that for many children, trying fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods can be challenging and may cause anxiety.
Feeding therapists from Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy will help educate parents on the initial steps to reduce this anxiety surrounding new foods. They will also help you to answer the question "Has my child gone beyond 'picky eating'?". Register Here
